back from my vaction and i've finally go a little time to actually stop and post some pics. it was so nice just to get away and not have to worry about work. i think they saved up all their problems and handed them over for me to fix m first day back. sigh. oh well. for once i didn't have any big problems on the flights up there. it was storming so hard the morning i left i thought they were going to cancel my flight. in the end all was well and i got there on time and in one piece. Grandma Lynn took me the Tom Ridge Enviromental Center. it was actually pretty cool. it was mostly about the peninsula.
while i was up there i had to get a pic of these frog statues. every time i see them they just crack me up.
on saturday Tom's band, Scarwork, was playing in cleveland.
we when early to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but the place was packed so we decided to save that trip for next time.
then we went to Peabody's and i got to watch the band rock out. sweet. (the lighting wasn't exactly camera friendly)
it was nice and, like always, i hated to go home.
and now, about a man i met today at work. as i was ringing up his stuff he asked me if i'd ever seen the movie We Were Soldiers. of course i had so i said i thought it was a pretty good movie. he nodded, then said "i was in that battle." awsomeness. he didn't say much but what he did say made me sad for him. that even thought the movie was rough it was ten times worse actually being there. and i bet it was hell on earth for him. he was wounded so bad they didn't expect him to live. i was glad to meet him, it made my day. so i shook the hand of a soldier who fought in the Ia Drang valley and thanked him for his service. |
